Its funny how I can sometimes be attracted to something so bright and eye catching but then be intimidated to actually go out and wear it. I bought this dress because it immediately caught my eye, it was displayed on a mannequin in the display window and I knew I just had to have it.

I very rarely ever walk into a mall and just purchase things out of impulse. I am the thoughtful type of shopper. I take a lot of time when deciding on a purchase...especially when it is a trend piece.
This dress from Honey, screamed girly, glam and glitz. All things that I do not feel that I associate with on a daily basis. I find my style is fixed to simple designs and neural colours that all mix and match well with each other. This dress for me was a risk but I absolutely do not regret purchasing it.

This summer I found my self changing up my style and taking a few more risks when it came to the outfits I was choosing to wear. This dress has been sitting in my closet for some time and when I decided to attend a PR event for Design Me Hair Product, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to wear it out.

If you are not familiar with Design Me Hair, I will give you a little history. The brand is a new Canadian hair care company, which comes in the most colourful and innovative bottles. They have created some really unique products such as Blow dry in a bottle and the adjustable nozzle hair spray. The products are cruelty free, vegan, sulphate free, gluten free and paraben free.

( I have linked their website so you can check them out yourself.) As the brand is full of colour and cool designs, I knew that this dress would match perfectly with the ambiance of the event.

I paired this dress with a pair of vintage heels from my mom's closet. They were woven in a pattern all across the top part of the foot which has become a popular trend. I was lucky enough to have on of the professional hairstylist from Design Me Hair to braid this beautiful up do for me, which it think added to the dress perfectly.

The Main theme of the event was #befearless and that really inspired me to be more confident in my choices.
I received so many complements on it and inquires about where I bought it, I knew I made the right design. I shouldn't have been so worried about wearing it and it being out of my comfort zone. I should be confident in my fashion choices because in the end if you are happy with your choices the confidence that you exude will out shine the clothes them selves.

I think that no matter what you decide to wear you should always be confident in your choices. It is not about getting recognition for the choices you make rather, what you wear should reflect how you feel on the inside. If something makes you happy ... you go and rock it! Don't worry about the feed back, recognition or validation from others. There are no guidelines and boundaries to fashion.
Go save the world one sequin at a time !
